Bare Your Confidence – An Interview with Gabrielle Singh, Founder & CEO of GC Skin Boutique and iyvos Skincare

July 2025

Few beauty‑industry founders bridge science, psychology, and entrepreneurship as seamlessly as Gabrielle Singh. After studying psychology with a focus on disadvantaged youth in Australia, she entered clinical aesthetics almost by accident—yet quickly discovered that the mind–skin connection could be a catalyst for lasting confidence.

In 2016 she opened GC Skin Boutique on Australia’s Gold Coast, earning national recognition for best‑in‑country Morpheus 8 results. Today, from her new base in Dubai, Singh leads iyvos Skincare, a premium line built on “radical transparency,” medical‑grade formulations, and the belief that glowing skin can transform the way a woman shows up in the world. A mother of three who steered her businesses through COVID lockdowns and personal loss, she speaks as passionately about resilience as she does about peptides and barrier health.

In her conversation with Gulf Times Arabia, Singh explains how psychology still shapes every product brief, why she refuses to “sell false hope,” and what it takes to create skincare that survives Gulf‑state summers.

The Conversation

Gulf Times Arabia: Your background in psychology plays a central role in your approach to skincare. How has this shaped the way you develop products and connect with your customers emotionally?

Gabrielle Singh: At the time I didn’t know how psychology would help me because I didn’t know beauty was going to be my path when I was studying, but now that I’m here I have been able to lean on that and it really opened my eyes to how closely the mind and self-image are connected, and how much our skin can impact how we feel about ourselves.

It made me think a lot deeper about the way humans work, how we build confidence, what shapes our self-esteem, and how beauty plays a role in all of that.

I’ve always looked at skincare as more than just what’s on the surface. It’s emotional. When your skin is struggling, it can affect everything, your mood, your confidence, and how you show up in the world.

So with Iyvos, I’ve tried to blend that understanding with real, results-driven products. I want people to feel seen and supported, and for their skincare to feel like an empowering part of their day, not just another step in a routine.

Gulf Times Arabia: Iyvos Skincare promises “radical transparency” and visible results. In an industry often criticized for overpromising, how do you maintain this commitment while still competing with high-spend luxury brands?

Gabrielle Singh: I’m so passionate about skin and helping people actually see real results. That’s always been the heart of what I do and what Iyvos is built on.

I pride myself on what we put out into the world. Every product is something I fully believe in, and I never want to overpromise or sell people false hope.

I think education is a huge part of that. I want to give our community the knowledge to understand their skin and the ingredients they’re using, because that’s where real trust comes from.

Even though we’re positioned in the luxury space, for me it’s never been about fancy marketing, it’s about premium formulations that deliver and really make a difference in people’s lives.

Gulf Times Arabia: GC Skin Boutique was recognized for the best Morpheus8 results in Australia. What do you believe sets your clinic’s treatment protocols apart from others in the field?

Gabrielle Singh: We never took a one-size-fits-all approach, every client had a plan tailored to their skin and their goals.

I trained my team to really understand skin, not just follow a protocol.

It wasn’t about pushing treatments, it was about getting results that people could feel proud of, without overdoing it.

That award came from years of refining our methods and genuinely caring about every single result.

Gulf Times Arabia: You often speak about confidence as a journey. Can you share a personal moment when skincare transformed your self-perception – and how that now drives your mission at Iyvos?

Gabrielle Singh: I used to be so self-conscious about my skin. I wouldn’t leave the house without makeup.

Now, I love leaving the house with nothing on my skin. I have more no-makeup days than makeup ones, and that shift has been so empowering.

I really believe your skin is your best makeup. There’s nothing more beautiful than seeing someone’s natural face and feeling their confidence shine through.

Maybe it’s something that’s come with age and experience too, I’ve learned to love and care for my skin instead of hiding it, and that’s exactly what I want other women to feel through Iyvos.

Gulf Times Arabia: As you expand into the UAE market, what are the cultural or climate-specific skincare needs you’re focusing on, and how is Iyvos adapting to meet them?

Gabrielle Singh: The climate here is no joke, the heat, humidity, constant AC… it can really throw your skin barrier out of balance.

I’ve been putting a lot of thought into our formulations to make sure they actually work in this environment. Our BB Cream, for example, was developed with this kind of climate in mind, because let’s be honest, there’s nothing worse than wearing makeup and feeling like it’s melting off your face within the first hour.

We want our BB Cream to be everyone’s go-to during the summer, something that gives you a beautiful, even skin tone and glow, while also hydrating and protecting your skin from the sun.

It’s about creating products that are lightweight but effective, breathable but still delivering results, because skin in this region needs that balance.

Gulf Times Arabia: You’ve built your business while raising three children and navigating profound personal challenges. What does resilience mean to you as a woman, a founder, and a mother – and how is that reflected in your brand ethos?

Gabrielle Singh: I became a mum quite young, and I started my first business not long after. So, from early on, I had to learn how to juggle a lot, family, ambition, and a whole lot of pressure.

Over the years, I’ve been through things that could have easily broken me, dealing with tricky business partnerships, running two clinics through the chaos of COVID, and then trying to manage everything remotely after relocating overseas.

My mum was diagnosed with cancer during that time and losing her has been the hardest thing I’ve ever been through. Through it all, I’ve had to keep showing up, for my kids, my team, and my vision.

I’ve never had the luxury of falling apart. It’s always been a choice between adapting fast or letting everything I’ve worked for crumble, and that was never an option for me.

Resilience to me isn’t about being tough all the time. It’s about continuing with heart, even when it hurts. That mindset is deeply woven into Iyvos, it’s a brand built by a woman who’s been through the fire and chose to turn it into something that could help others feel strong and beautiful in their own skin.

Gabrielle Singh’s story reads like a masterclass in turning adversity into authority. By allying clinical rigour with psychological insight—and insisting that beauty marketing never outpace measurable results—she is carving out a space where luxury feels honest and confidence is the true endgame. As iyvos Skincare enters the Middle East, watch for formulations that respect both the science of the skin barrier and the emotional journey behind every complexion.
