BCI Group Inaugurates Its State-of-the-Art Plant in the Heart of Riyadh A Pioneering Step toward Sustainability and Advancing Vision 2030
Riyadh, December 11, 2024: As part of its ambitious global expansion strategy, BCI has announced the inauguration of its new plant in Riyadh’s Second Industrial City. This facility represents a significant milestone for the regionally leading company specializing in polyurethane systems polyester polyols, and specialty adhesives, reaffirming its commitment to industrial development and sustainability in line with Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030.
For the occasion, BCI organized a Gala dinner on December 10, 2024 at the Four Seasons Hotel in Riyadh. The event was attended by HE Eng. Khalil Ibrahim bin Salamah, Deputy Minister of Industry & Mineral Resources for Industrial Affairs, along with prominent figures from both the public and private sectors, CEOs from leading chemical industry firms, and key BCI clients.
The following day was dedicated to a field trip at BCI ‘s new facility. Guests were given a guided tour to explore the plant’s state-of-the-art technologies and machinery used in polyurethane manufacturing. Both events included a short video presentation showcasing the company’s journey in the polyurethane and manufacturing industries, as well as its forward-looking strategies in Saudi Arabia.
BCI’s new plant spans 10,000 square meters, with plans for further expansion in the near future. The facility features fully automated operations, the first of its kind in Saudi Arabia and the region. With an initial production capacity of 40,000 tons annually, the capacity is set to increase to 60,000 tons in the second phase by next year. The plant focuses on producing materials for various industries such as automotive, piping, HVAC systems, household appliances, and insulation materials. Its commitment to sustainability is reflected in the use of non-toxic materials and advanced technologies that reduce energy consumption by up to 60%. BCI is also at the forefront of innovation, recycling PET materials into raw materials for insulation and transforming tires into binding agents used in industrial applications.
During the dinner party, His Excellency Eng. Khalil bin Ibrahim bin Salma, Deputy Minister of Industry and Mineral Resources for Industry Affairs, delivered a speech in which he referred to the role of the Ministry of Industry in promoting industrial investments in the Kingdom through a set of vital initiatives and programs that aim to provide an attractive environment for investors, facilitate procedures, and provide support to them. He stressed the Ministry’s keenness to diversify the industrial base and enhance local content, which contributes to achieving the goals of Saudi Vision 2030 and transforming the Kingdom into a leading industrial power. His Excellency praised the step taken by the BCI Group for Chemical Industries to open its latest production facility in the Second Industrial City in Riyadh, as this factory represents a qualitative leap in the field of manufacturing polyurethane systems, and ensures the provision of innovative products that meet the advanced needs of customers while adhering to the highest standards of quality and environmental sustainability.
BCI’s CEO, Hassan Baalbaki, expressed pride in the legacy of his father, Dr. Ihsan El Baalbaki, for being the inspiration and driving force behind the group’s success. He emphasized that this historic step aligns with Vision 2030 and underlines the group’s leadership in bringing advanced polyurethane systems to the Kingdom.
